You can make your own penguin theme cake with no decorating skills at all! This cake topper set from Avalon Sunshine and a few snowy accents will make a sweet, little winter wonderland cake! So simple!
I don't think anyone really needs instructions how to put frosting on a sugar cone, but here are a few tips:
- Get sugar cones, not waffle cones, so they stand up straight.
- Any kind of frosting will work; this was pre-made frosting from a can.
- After the cone is covered, you can make little peaks by pressing the back of a spatula or butter knife into the frosting and pulling it straight out.
- Decorate with colored sugar, sprinkles or little candies.
First put the cake topper on the cake, then add the trees. I like the look of the trees placed just inside each of the cake topper sticks.
One final touch to make the cake look cute, is an irresistible ring of powdered sugar donut holes around the edge of the cake! They make perfect little, bite-sized snowballs!
It's a simple cake but still looks so special!
Look! It's available in a girly version too! With a pink bow for the penguin and a pink personalized name topper!
Whether you're starting with a home-baked cake or a plain grocery store cake, this cake topper set makes it so easy for anyone to decorate a cake!
