SWEET AS A PEACH! Isn't that just the cutest theme for a baby shower or a sweet little one's 1st birthday?
With just a few simple decorations and some fresh fruit, you can follow this theme and set up a pretty little party!
Let's start off with that cake topper from Avalon Sunshine! Aren't the leaf ribbons on the ends the best? So adorable and they tie into other greenery and natural elements that you can easily and inexpensively add to your party decor.
OK...let's move on to the little peach balloon garland! What a way to make a big decorating impact with very little effort or cost. I'm going to explain how to put one of these together yourself. It's so simple!
Supplies needed:
- Peach 5" balloons (I got these from Amazon)
- Faux leaves (ripped off of existing faux plants in my house)
- Needle and white thread
Decide how many balloons you want based on the length of your garland. After you blow up the balloons, cut a piece of thread twice as long as you want your finished garland to be. Double your thread in the needle and knot the two loose ends together so your balloons can't fall off the end.
Add the first balloon to the thread by putting the needle through the balloon on side of the knot AWAY from the balloon. This way your balloon won't pop. Just to be clear...if you're looking at the picture below, the round part of the balloon is on the right. The needle is going through the end of the balloon on the LEFT side of the knot.
Slide the balloon all the way down to the knotted end of your thread. Then put the needle through the leaf about half an inch from the end, right in the center.
Slide it down the thread to meet up with the first peach.
Repeat this for all of your balloons and leaves. Slide them down the thread and arrange the spacing however you like.
I didn't like how the leaves were sometimes "floating" next to the balloons. I wanted it to look like the leaf was attached to the top of the peach. So I grabbed my glue gun and added just a little dot of glue by the knot on the balloon and pinched the leaf to the balloon. Perfect!
It's so lightweight, I just taped it to the wall with a couple of pieces of clear Scotch tape.
One final addition to the table is little favor boxes filled with Haribo Peaches. These sugar-dusted gummies are one of my all-time favorite candies and available in a 5 pound bag on Amazon. They are a perfect match to the Sweet as a Peach theme!
Avalon Sunshine cake toppers are the easiest way to decorate your cake without any stress or decorating skills. They work great for traditional and non-traditional cakes...home-baked and store bought cakes. LET'S CELEBRATE!
