Hello friends! I don't know about you, but in my house, we love to celebrate EVERYTHING with donuts! Birthdays are certainly no exception!
I understand that sometimes you just gotta grab your favorite flavor out of the box (and maybe throw an elbow) before someone else gets it. But...for a special birthday celebration, it's fun to be a little fancy.
This honestly takes less than 2 minutes. I think we can all handle 2 minutes of prep work, even if it's early in the morning, right? All to make the birthday kid feel special! Start the day off right with some frosting and sprinkles!
You don't REALLY need instructions because this is so easy, but here's how I put together this beautiful stack of sugary goodness. I started with a dozen donuts from the local grocery store and a 10" cake stand. I love plain white serving dishes because they can be used for any occasion!
Layer 1: Use 5 donuts, or as many as you need to fill the empty space on the bottom. TIP: If you don't FILL the space on the bottom layer with donuts really well, the next layer of donuts won't sit evenly. Then you might end up with a leaning tower of donuts.
Layer 2: Add 4 more donuts; this time it's OK to leave a little empty space in the center. If you have a variety of donut flavors, it's fun to stagger the different frosting colors on the plate. Not necessary, but definitely prettier that way!
Layer 3: Top with the final 3 donuts!!! If you needed more donuts on the first couple of layers and don't have 3 left, it will still look great with two donuts on the top.
Then TRY to keep little hands off the donuts long enough to add a personalized cake topper.
Name cake toppers are the fastest and easiest way to personalize a stack of donuts! Doesn't that make the plate look 100 times more festive?
Here is where you can order a cake topper with your own kiddo's name! There are so many color options in the shop!
Avalon Sunshine cake toppers are the easiest way to decorate your cake without any stress or decorating skills. They work great for traditional and non-traditional cakes...home-baked and store bought cakes. LET'S CELEBRATE!
